Women of the Shoah Docent Program
The WSJP Docents are volunteer ambassadors for the mission of Women of the Shoah Jewish Placemaking and the monument “She Wouldn’t Take off Her Boots.”
What We Do
Women of the Shoah engages communities by building public monuments that honor the spirit of humanity in the women and children of the Holocaust. We create public art that educates, inform, and transform the viewers perspective on the Holocaust, antisemitism, racism and all genocide of women and children. We do this through a documentary film, tours, placemaking initiatives, and educational curriculum around “She Wouldn’t Take Off Her Boots,” North Carolina’s Holocaust monument dedicated to the women and children who endured or perished in the Holocaust located in Greensboro, NC.
Be Part of a Learning Community
Women of the Shoah Docents are the face of the organization for the thousands of people who tour the monument “She Wouldn’t Take off Her Boots” each year. They spread a powerful message throughout our region regarding the horrors of the Holocaust and the lessons it teaches us today. Docent’s get special access to trainings, guest speakers, and have an opportunity to become part of a learning community.
