Temple Emanuel is a vibrant, caring Reform Jewish congregation in northwest Greensboro, with close to 600 families. Led by our dynamic rabbis, Andy Koren and Amy Hertz, the Temple is a diverse congregation, exploring Jewish traditions, culture, rituals, and history in a warm environment that is inclusive, relevant, and inspirational.
Temple Emanuel’s Program Coordinator should be a highly organized, detail-oriented and collaborative professional who will provide administrative and operational support for our wide range of programs. The ideal candidate excels at managing multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency, has strong administrative and data management skills, is passionate about Jewish living, and brings a warm, creative, and service-oriented approach to supporting Temple families and the broader Temple community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Planning programs and managing their execution
• Coordinating program registration and communication
• Implementing programs, including recruiting volunteers, hiring outside vendors, attending related meetings and being present for the program
• Providing on-site administrative and logistical support during events
• Tracking program expenditures
• Updating and managing the website and Temple calendar
• Recruiting and coordinating volunteers
• Providing staff support for fundraising and programmatic committees
• Developing new program ideas and providing outreach to prospective members and various age groups, from young adults to to seniors
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Experienced in program or office administration
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Excellent organizational skills, proofreading/editing skills and interpersonal and communication skills; a high attention to detail
• Passionate about Jewish living and learning, bringing a fun, creative, and enthusiastic approach
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms is important. Proficiency in Constant Contact is helpful but easily learned.
Schedule:
The Program Coordinator position is a full-time (40 hours per week), year-round role. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed, is required. In-office presence varies based on programmatic needs.
