Jewish Family Services Case Manager or Clinical Social Worker

General Description:
This position is flexible and is responsible for the case management of clients of Jewish Family Services which serves the Jewish community of Greensboro and Guilford County. Caseload consists of adults, older adults, and Holocaust survivors. Additional components may include information and referral, group work, and program development. MSW candidates with licensure in North Carolina may also apply for the position and can assume additional responsibilities including counseling services.

 

Qualifications:

  • For Case Manager, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school and appropriate licensure, or minimally a BA from another background with experience in case management. For counseling, an MSW and LCSW are necessary with two years’ experience.

  • Commitment to working with adults, older adults, families, individuals, and groups, with knowledge base of family issues and geriatrics. Knowledge and skills for effective interventions with above populations. For MSW, LCSW, strong clinical skills related to therapy.

  • Ability to initiate, organize, and facilitate educational and support programs and workshops.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate and be part of a team. For MSW, LSCW, familiarity with billing practices.

  • Knowledge of/ability to learn community resources, federal and state programs, and willingness to network in the professional community and the Jewish community of Greensboro.

  • Understanding of and respect for Jewish values and tradition.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains client relationships through outreach and case management. For Clinical Social Work position, provides counseling for clients.

  • Offers direct care services to case management clients including assessment and evaluation, care plan implementation and support, community referrals, and advocacy. For MSW, LCSW, offers assessment and evaluation, provides diagnosis, treatment plan, and interventions. 

  • Manages all client relationships in a professional, skilled, confidential, and ethical manner.

  • Provides groups and workshops to meet the educational and supportive needs within the community. Assists in the development of such programs.

  • Provides Information & Referral and Intake services as needed by clients.

  • Actively networks to develop community contacts and maintains data base of community resources.

  • MSW, LCSW acts as a resource on issues of mental health.

  • Collaborates with other JFS staff to meet identified clients’ needs and on specific tasks and projects.

  • Maintains accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all services, interventions, and client related activities. MSW, LCSW works with billing service.
