Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist
(Part-Time)
Organizational Background:
The Greensboro Jewish Federation is a multifaceted nonprofit organization that promotes the welfare of Jewish people in Greensboro, Israel, and worldwide.
Summary:
The Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist will report to the Director of Marketing and Design. Ensuring all creative initiatives and social media engagement align with the Federation’s brand guidelines and standards, the Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist will support the Director of Marketing and Design in project management, organization, and execution of creative initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Shalom Greensboro Magazine:
Work closely and collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Design to tak pages from concept to final product. Serve on the Editorial Board, assist in recording meeting minutes, and help plan content themes. Attend and assist in directing magazine photoshoots. Magazine production, layout and design when needed. - Events:
Create event graphics for use in digital platforms (website, social media, emails) andprinted pieces (invitations, programs, event signage); attend and photograph events. - Social Media:
Generate, edit, publish and share content on social media platforms that align with Federation’s social media strategy guidelines & goals. - Emails:
Compose and distribute email campaigns via constant contact. - Websites:
Assist in design layout, navigation, and uploading of relevant content/graphics. - Annual Impact Report:
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Design, help create the Federation’s Annual Impact Report. Solicit and compile content from all staff an community members. Circulate proofs and obtain final approval before publication, Impact Report production, layout and design when needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Graphic Design (or equivalent experience)
- Proven understanding of design principles, typography, use of color and composition, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative, professional design work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software for use in digital and print production
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Strong attention to detail
- Well-versed in the use of social media as a marketing tool, comfortable working with photography
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, community leaders, donors, and volunteers
- Highly motivated, creative and passionate about continuous learning – not only abou trends in design and new technologies, but also Jewish culture and tradition
Preferences:
- Writing and proofing skills
- Familiarity with the programs and services of the Greensboro Jewish Federation an its constituent agencies a plus
