Organizational Background:
The Greensboro Jewish Federation is a multifaceted nonprofit organization that promotes the welfare of Jewish people in Greensboro, Israel, and worldwide.
Summary:
The Graphic Design Associate will report to the Director of Marketing and Design and play a key role in supporting the development and execution of creative projects. This position will help ensure that all visual communications align with the Federation’s brand standards, while assisting with project management, organization, and overall creative execution.
Responsibilities Include:
● Shalom Greensboro Magazine:
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Design, help with production, layout and design of Shalom Greensboro Magazine Serve on the Editorial Board, assist in recording meeting minutes, and help plan content themes. Attend and assist in directing magazine photo shoots.
● Events:
Create event graphics for use in digital platforms (website, social media, emails) and printed pieces (invitations, programs, event signage); attend and photograph events.
● Social Media:
Help generate, edit, publish and share content on social media platforms that align with Federation’s social media strategy guidelines & goals.
● Emails:
Compose and distribute email campaigns via constant contact
● Websites:
Assist in design layout, navigation, and uploading of relevant content/graphics
● Annual Impact Report:
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Design, helpw ith production, layout and design of the Federation’s Annual Impact Report. Solicit and compile content from all staff and community members. Circulate proofs and obtain final approval before publication.
Qualifications:
● Associate’s degree or higher in Graphic Design (or equivalent experience)
● Proven understanding of design principles, typography, use of color and composition, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative, professional design work.
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software for use in digital and print production
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
● Strong attention to detail
● Well-versed in the use of social media as a marketing tool, comfortable working with photography
● Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, community leaders, donors, and volunteers
● Highly motivated, creative and passionate about continuous learning – not only about trends in design and new technologies, but also Jewish culture and traditions
Preferences:
● Writing and proofing skills
● Familiarity with the programs and services of the Greensboro Jewish Federation and its constituent agencies a plus
