Position Summary
The Campaign and Events Manager supports the fundraising, outreach, and community-building efforts of the Greensboro Jewish Federation. Working closely with the Director of Financial Resource Development (FRD), this role helps implement the Annual Campaign, engage affinity groups, and coordinate planning and marketing for events and missions. This position also contributes to broader marketing efforts, including social media and advertising sales for the Federation’s magazine. Key Responsibilities
Annual Campaign Support
- Assist with donor outreach, tracking, and follow-up during the Annual Campaign.
- Personally manage a portfolio of donors and prospects (<$1,000), with a focus on cultivation, solicitation, and securing annual support through traditional and supplementary giving.
- Responsible for direct response campaign communications including direct mail, email, text messages, calling, etc.
- Prepare solicitation materials for major donor meetings.
- Help with outreach to current and potential corporate sponsors and support sponsor stewardship.
Event Coordination & Planning
- Provide Leadership and/or assist with planning and logistics for all Annual Campaign events, engagement events, domestic and international missions, and other Federation events. This includes collaborating with Director of FRD and volunteer leaders to develop and monitor event budgets, create event timelines, select speaker or entertainment, manage vendor and venue relationships, and day-of support.
- Plan and implement events and programs to engage Federation affinity groups including Women’s Philanthropy, Men’s Campaign, NextGen (young adult division), Cardozo, Maimonides, Ignite, and other groups that may arise to meet the needs of the community. This involves partnering closely with volunteer leaders and committees.
Marketing & Communications
- Work with Director of FRD to develop event promotion and follow-up materials for all campaign events, collaborate with Outreach and Engagement Manager on promotion of engagement events, and work with development team to create communications for Federation missions.
- Collaborate with Marketing Director on the development of print and digital content and materials to promote Federation programs and initiatives through multiple channels.
- Create and schedule social media content for Federation and Jewish Family Services across platforms to promote events, campaigns, and community impact.
- Serve as back-up for marketing efforts including website updates and electronic newsletters for Federation and Jewish Family Services.
- Reach out to existing and prospective businesses and community partners to solicit ad sales in the Federation’s Shalom Greensboro Magazine and work directly with advertisers to obtain commitments, payment, and artwork.
- Work with community partners to cross promote events and activities through electronic newsletters, social media channels, and print materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a nonprofit, marketing, development, event planning, or Jewish communal role (internship or volunteer experience considered).
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with managing social media platforms via Meta Business Suite, design tools like Canva, and email marketing platforms like Constant Contact a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a small, collaborative environment.
- Interest in working closely with volunteers and approaching these relationships with a customer service mindset.
- Ability to use good judgement, professionalism, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and/or confidential matters.
- Willing to work nights and weekends and travel on missions and to conferences, as needed.
- Knowledge of Jewish traditions, values, and community life is an asset.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and MS office suite products.
