Mixed Media Class:
Celebrating Spring with the Tree of Life
Tuesday, March 14 from 10:30 a.m. - Noon
at Jewish Family Services

5509 West Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC

“It is a tree of life to those who hold it, and those who grasp it are happy” (Proverbs 3:18)

Artist Diane Shur will lead us through visual examples of the tree of life in various cultures. She will demonstrate how to use watercolor and torn paper and how to add details with gel pens to complete a composition. Enjoy light snacks and good company as we have fun and learn some new art techniques.

Diane Shur began her art education in high school in NYC, attending the High School of Music and Art, and taking figure drawing classes at the renowned Art Students League. She studied at Brooklyn College from 1970-72, majoring in Art History before working in retail and as a surgical technologist. After two decades of focusing on work and social change, she returned to making art, taking classes from a number of local artists, and becoming proficient in watercolor and pastel as well as pottery and drawing. She began giving private drawing lessons to adults in 2015, resulting in successful show at the Artery Gallery, and taught children pottery and drawing.
